[PJ-1W] Wings of WINNER Debut Support Project

YG Princes will be hosting the WINNER debut support project, titled as ‘Wings of WINNER’. 

To make this project extra special, instead of just a traditional message book, we’re going to be writing the messages in message pills instead as well as letting all of you send in your gifts that you want to give to WINNER. 

Symbolism

You may be wondering, why is it called ‘Wings of WINNER’? If you recall, the self-composed song of Team A (now WINNER), called “Go Up”, contained the lyrics:

“Let’s go up in the sky, we’ll go up”

With that verse in mind, we titled this project ‘Wings of WINNER’, because not only did it connect with “Go Up” but also because it signified WINNER unfurling their wings and being ready to take their first flight and ready to make their mark on the world.

Guidelines

1. All messages must be 25 words or less. 
2. Donors may write up to 50 words. Please click here to donate.
3. Do not send any heavy, large, illegal, or flammable gifts or else the package may get stopped by customs. (We will accept edible gifts as long as they are sealed/pre-packaged.)
4. We don’t recommend sending fragile gifts, simply because it may get broken during the shipping process.
5. If you would like to send a gift, please send a message first, so that we can tell you whether we can accept your gift or not.

[INTERVIEW] 131102 ‘YG New Group’s Mission’ WINNER: “Listening to Kang Seungyoon’s composition, we felt a sense of victory” 'We did it!’

YG Entertainment’s new group WINNER’s Kang Seungyoon’s self-composition has become extremely popular.

The confirmed members of WINNER who are set to debut recently met with TVReport in their building in Seoul. The members said that they still have not realized their popularity, and they don’t know what to do with it, but are extremely grateful.

The WINNER members said that the reason they were able to win against WIN’s Team B members was because of Kang Seungyoon’s self-composed song “Go up”. Earlier, Team A chose Kang Seungyoon to participate in the mission for self-composition, as per Yang Hyun Suk’s suggestion.

Kang Seungyoon became shy after hearing the members praise his composition. Lee Seunghoon said, “The song was written extremely well. As soon as I heard Seungyoon’s song, I thought ‘This is it. We’ve done it.’ Seungyoon was the one who gave our team our victory.”, praising Seungyoon highly.

Kang Seungyoon replied, “All of our members are continuing to prepare our own self-composed songs. I, of course, well also continue to practice as well.”, revealing his humble nature. And, “In the future, in our upcoming albums, the members are also preparing their solo songs as well. Our individual pieces, dance songs, all of us are practicing for those, however everything will be decided by Yang Hyun Suk. We’re hoping he’ll allow us to have our own songs. Hahaha”, making the members laugh around him.

[INTERVIEW] 131102 ‘Ahead of their Debut’ WINNER’s Predicted Sub-Unit Activitiies…Duets to YG Collaborations

Ahead of their debut, ‘WIN’ Team A members picked which sub-units and activities they would like to participate in after the birth of their group and their debut.

Group WINNER will be debuting with Kang Seungyoon, Nam Taehyun, Song Minho, Lee Seunghoon, and Kim Jinwoo as its members, and they recently met with TVReport at the office. That day, we asked the members, “The Big Bang members have made their debuts in sub-units, just like them, what kind of sub-units do you want to be in and with which members?”

First to answer was Nam Taehyun: Rather than being a singer, I want to try being a rapper. Since I have a high tone, I think that I would match with Minho hyung very nicely

Song Minho, who was chosen by Nam Taehyun, replied, “I think it’d go well if it was Taehyun and I, so I also choose him. Lots of fans also enjoy seeing the two of us together as well.”

Seeing the two members choosing each other, Kang Seungyoon commented, “Then I, Lee Seunghoon, and Kim Jinwoo will form a sub-unit without Nam Taehyun and Song Minho.”

However, Lee Seunghoon instead said, “I want to do it with Big Bang sunbaenims or 2NE1 sunbaenims”, causing the members to laugh while leaving Kang Seungyoon flustered.

And then Kim Jinwoo, seeing the people around him, said, “For me, perhaps Psy sunbaenim?”, causing the members to burst out into laughter.

Practice, battle, practice, battle, practice, battle, and eventually debuting. The ‘2nd Big Bang’, WINNER, said, “To us, YG means…”

The WINNER members who have confirmed their debut recently met with TVReport could not hide their anticipation. However, they also revealed their apologetic heart towards WIN Team B who are unable to debut right now. Finally, WINNER is reaching the end of their long training period. Meanwhile, we asked them, “What were your thoughts on YG while going through your most difficult times?” “Indeed, who is YG to WINNER?”

Nam Taehyun: Yang Hyun Suk CEO is like a tough father to me.

Lee Seunghoon: Yang Hyun Suk CEO is a religion. He’s there for me to just blindly believe in him. Sort of like God Yang? (Laughs) While participating in KPOP STAR, it was Boss that was able to see the potential within me. I have come here because of his choice. I trust our boss unconditionally.

Kim Jinwoo: Boss is a chameleon. Just like how a chameleon changes color, our boss also changes his image. Sometimes he is strict, sometimes he is like an angel. He’s given us a lot of support and strength throughout the battle.

Song Minho: Boss is like the rainy season. His critiques are like the harsh downpour of the rain. But I think that he’s also the umbrella that creates opportunities. (Thinking again) Boss is also my love as well. (Laughs)

Kang Seungyoon: Speaking honestly, YG is like a father to me. In fact, since I don’t have a father next to me, he really is like my real father. Boss was the one who caught me when I was dazed. Honestly, when there were times that I thought I was going to collapse, he has always caught me. I received a lot of strength from him. I’m really grateful to him.

[INTERVIEW] 131101 Big Bang TOP: “Super WIN hoobaes, they are the new energy”

Big Bang’s TOP came clean about juniors ‘WIN’ Team A and Team B.

Ahead of the opening of his movie ‘Alumni’ on the 31st, TOP commented briefly about YG’s new boy group. YG Entertainment’s project “WIN: WHO IS NEXT” was showcased on Mnet, with Team A eventually becoming the WINNER while Team B went back to being trainees.

On his juniors, TOP commented, “Honestly, they’re really pretty. (T/N: Can also mean cute) Today morning, I met Team A briefly in the salon and they greeted me, which gave me a lot of positive energy.” He also added, “These friends have a very beautiful feeling and personalities, which I am glad to see. I could see so many possibilities in them. They are people with great potential”, he praised.

He also followed up with, “To be able to do activities with our company’s hoobaes gives me a wonderful feeling. As a senior, I personally want to be a good example to them,” and “Because I as well, am always doing the best that I can do.”

TOP as well also debuted through a survival program, Big Bang’s debut documentary. Having experienced to have one of two teams debut, isn’t that bad, TOP said, “I’m not the one writing for WIN so I can’t say anything, but don’t you think that Team B will be able to greet you again soon, in a different way?”

TOP also said, “Team A and Team B, regardless of everything, they are all great friends.” “There’s no such thing as which team is better. More superior? Surely not. The way I see it, all of them are superior.” “As you saw from the program, you have already witnessed for yourself and confirmed the large extent of the ability of these friends.”, as he actively supported his hoobaes.
