KANG SEUNG-YOON revealed a teaser image of his very first song

KANG SEUNG-YOON, who is to release his first debut solo song “IT RAINS” tomorrow (July 16), posted a teaser image of the song on YG’s official blog. 

In the image, he steals the hearts of women with his teary eyes and moist hair from the rain.

The teaser image is the first one for KANG SEUNG-YOON since he joined YG Entertainment. He was first discovered in a talent show program Superstar K Season 2 three years ago, where he garnered much popularity.

KANG SEUNG-YOON, dubbed “rookie that does not look like a rookie”, gained popularity when he sang YOON JONG-SHIN’s “INSTINCTIVELY” in Superstar K. Although he did not win, he left a great impression on the audience. Fans were mesmerized by his sentimental voice and relaxed attitude on stage.

Because talent show programs were so popular, it was hard for actual singers to rank #1 on music charts. But KANG SEUNG-YOON’s version of the song swept across the charts and also aroused interest for the original version.

Since then, KANG SEUNG-YOON joined YG Entertainment and devoted 3 long years on training. Many were curious to see where he would go from there.

And finally, tomorrow (July 16), his mini album’s first song “IT RAINS” will be revealed to the public for the first time.

YANG HYUN-SUK, the producer of YG Entertainment, said, “We are now carefully coming up with plans for KANG SEUNG-YOON to make an appearance on TV, which was not included in the original proposal. The survival program “WIN”, the program that was to help form a new YG boy group
for the first time in 7 years after BIGBANG, is to be postponed to July 26 for several reasons.
But with the postponing of the program, there were some positive changes made to solo album
debut plans for KANG SEUNG-YOON, who is one of the members of the show “WIN”.

What are the changes and when will KANG SEUNG-YOON release his first solo debut album?
 
KANG SEUNG-YOON’s debut song, “WILD AND YOUNG”, which was scheduled to be released today,
will instead be released in 2 weeks time, at the end of July. However, his other song in the mini album
titled “IT RAINS”will be released first on July 16.
 
The biggest reason for postponing “WILD AND YOUNG” for 2 weeks was the weather.
 
As I explained before, “WIND AND YOUNG” is strong rock with KANG SEUNG-YOON’s refreshing voice,
which makes it perfect for summer. But as the rainy season has begun in Korea, we are going to release
“IT RAINS” first, and when the heat wave hits at the end of July, that’s when “WILD AND YOUNG”will be released.
 
We are now carefully coming up with plans for KANG SEUNG-YOON to make an appearance on TV,
which was not included in the original proposal. And we are thinking the beginning of September
for his mini album release.
 
The “WIN” program that consists of 10 episodes is an unpredictable show, as the voting result depends
completely on the watchers. So we have to take into account that Group A, which includes KANG SEUNG-YOON,
may win, and in that case his team will form an official group under the name “WINNER” as soon as the program
finishes in the first week of October. The group will be involved in many different activities until the end of the year.
If this is the case, KANG SEUNG-YOON’s solo music activities will be carried out for about 2 months, from the
beginning of August to the end of September.
 
Anyway, stay tuned for tomorrow’s “IT RAINS” and “WILD AND YOUNG” at the end of July,
and also for KANG SEUNG-YOON’s mini album that will be released at the beginning of September!
 
How is TAEYANG’s 2nd regular album going?
 
TAEYANG’s 2nd regular album that is to be released in September is his first one in 3 years.
To make it an album in which he can be completely satisfied with, TAEYANG himself is
in charge of everything related to album production.
 
Unlike G-DRAGON who has an experience of being fully in charge of producing BIGBANG’s entire albums
and his own solo album, it’s the first time for TAEYANG to be producing on his own, so it may take him some time.
But we believe that the hardship will reap a fruit for his career and that the skills gained will aid him in many ways
for the rest of his music life.
 
For the last few years, TAEYANG has been working not only with the main producers but also been travelling
to the United States several times to work with world-renowned songwriters. Just a few days ago we completed
the track list of about 10 songs for his 2nd regular album, so there will be no change in plan for releasing it in September.
 
Any more news on 2NE1’s plan for releasing a new song every month?
 
2NE1’s next new song will be released at the beginning of August as planned.
 
CL’s hip-hop solo song “THE BADDEST FEMALE” and 2NE1’s reggae “FALLING IN LOVE”, which were both
non-mainstream, were a first attempt at the genres for the group. But the new song that is to be released
at the beginning of August is a fast-paced and rhythmic song that is aimed for summer. The song is very 2NE1.
 
The new music video for the song in August will be directed by director SEO HYUN-SEUNG,
and Japan’s famous choreographer, KOHARU SUGAHARA, who designed the moves for “FALLING IN LOVE”,

2NE1’s BOM and DARA are diligently filming DOUBLE PARK TV, which will be revealed online soon.
 
DOUBLE PAKR TV does not have any set format for regular viewing, it’s sort of “do whatever you want”
online program. BOM and DARA are showing great affection for the show, so I personally think the two
will be filming it until the end of this month, which is the month 2NE1 will be wrapping up their album activities.
 
Like you have seen in 2NE1 TV before, the two members are of greatly unique characters, so they embarked on
the DOULBE PAKR TV as they thought a non-formatted and customized show would suit them better than
regular TV variety shows.
 
As you have already seen in the sneak-peek intro video clip of DOULBE PARK TV, the two idiosyncratic MCs
will be delivering you every tiny detail of what’s happening at YG.

Lee Seung Hoon of ’K-Pop Star‘ will not be debuting as a solo as previously thought, but rather as a part of YG Entertainment‘s new boy group.

According to insiders in the music industry, Lee Seung Hoon is currently training hard as a rapper for YG Entertainment, even sacrificing his weekends to practice. He’s currently practicing as part of a team because he’s planning to debut as a member of a new boy group. Still, fans were unsure because of rumors of a solo, but Yang Hyun Suk himself confirmed that Lee Seung Hoon will be a part of this group.

In an interview with Star News, Yang Hyun Suk stated, “Lee Seung Hoon won’t be debuting as a solo but as a member of a team. His talents shine much brighter in a team environment. He has leadership skills, and he is talented at coming up with choreography. He’s practicing right now on improving his rap skills. Lee Seung Hoon and those who practice with him pretty much treat the practice room as their home. They practice into the early morning every day, and work even on Sundays. His debut will depend on his own efforts, but there’s no doubt that he’s practicing diligently. At the earliest, he can debut within this year, and at the latest he will debut next year.”

However, it seems like the new team that he’ll be a part of isn’t the boy group that YG Entertainment mentioned in the past and fans have been expecting. In fact, he’s part of a totally different group. Yang Hyun Suk said, “His group is different from the new boy group that YG Entertainment was originally preparing. His team will be very different compared to the basic idol groups“.

[NEWS] Yang Hyun Suk reveals his upcoming plans for 2013 + Kang Seung Yoon and the new boy group

YG Entertainment has revealed some more hints about their upcoming plans for 2013!

Yang Hyun Suk himself stated, “During the first half of this new year we will be focusing on the album production and promotions for Lee Hi, 2NE1, and YG’s new girl group… If all goes as planned, then I want to reveal our new boy group as well in the last half of the year. However, this date is just a wish of mine as a producer and I hope the fans will take this as more of a hint rather than a promise.”

He also revealed some details on the upcoming boy group, stating, “The members of this new boy group are between the ages of 16~18, and have all been training for more than two years and are extremely good… For the past two years they have been training with Kang Seung Yoon.”

As ‘Superstar K2‘s Kang Seung Yoon was previously said to be getting ready for a solo debut, Yang Hyun Suk clarified, ”Although Kang Seung Yoon will be releasing his solo debut album during the first quarter of next year, we will not nail him as only a solo artist,” revealing that he may be included in the boy group as well.

He also added, “Ever since he entered YG, he has improved tremendously in dancing… He will release his first solo album before or after February, and will show just how much he has changed while under YG… His new image will be different from his ‘Superstar K’ image.“
